Jajce is a \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"museum under the open sky,\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" which nurtures over 22 national monuments, out of which 10 are of the highest category. Since 1979th, local authorities have been taking the initiative for the registration of Jajce under the UNESCO list of world\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s heritage. In the area of Jajce many significant cultural and historical attractions were found, and among which is the famous temple of the god Mithras, who is the oldest monument in Jajce, and dates from 4th century. The most important ancient monument in Bosnia was discovered in a year 1931, representing an old Indo-Iranian deity of the Sun and light, whose cult was brought by Roman soldiers from Asia. Fortress (castle, citadel) is a medieval fortress, built by the builder of the City of Jajce. The Bear Tower represents one of the oldest defensive heritages in BiH. It is actually the last tower of defensive characteristics, and it was built between 1448th and 1463th, in the Bosnian kingdom. It is important to mention the mysterious catacombs, which are related with numerous legends. They are carved into the rock underground, and represent the temple and the underground tomb of the last Bosnian king, built in a year 410. On the right bank of the River of Vrbas in Podmilačje, 7km from Jajce, you may find the only preserved Gothic-style church in BiH. The Church of St. John the Baptist is known for being visited by tens of thousands of pilgrims from all over Europe to Podmilačje every year, believing in the healing power of the St John the Baptist. Among the objects of religious architecture, you may also find Franciscan monastery built in the nineteenth century, and in which are kept bones of the last Bosnian king Mr. Stjepan Tomasevic, in a glass coffin.

Special attributes of the City of Jajce, are unusual landscapes and beautiful scenery, fulfilled with a series of travertine, and 12 the most beautiful waterfalls in the world, which disappear into the canyon of the river Vrbas. This city has great touristic importance.
